Greene County’s bowling season continues after a home meet on Nov. 27 and a Saturday baker tourney in Osceola.
Greene County bowling hosted Ballard on Monday, the varsity boys picking up their second win while the girls and junior varsity boys battled but came up short.
The top bowler for the Greene County varsity team was Carter Fecher who scored 216 in his first game and 247 in his second for a total score of 463. Also bowling above 400 was Trystan Cummings, taking a 211 and a 192 for a total score of 403.
The top five scores are used for the team score, adding to Fecher and Cummings were Tegan Chisholm with a 355, Chase Fecher with a 346 and Edrik Heisterkamp bowling a total of 342 points, with the first round score being 1909 for the total.
The high scoring individual wins allowed the boys their success, as the team scored 808 in the baker round, while Ballard had a 901 points.
For the girls, Graci Cooklin was the top bowler, totaling 241 with a 128 first game and a 113 second. Ava Schilling had a total of 229 with Rozella Helms totaling 216. The other two scores contributing to the team score were a 176 from Naveah Kelly and 158 by Shailynne Woodley.
Osceola Tournament – On Saturday, the team traveled to Osceola to take part in a baker tourney. The boys took second place with a score of 2444. The girls had a third place finish with a 1518 score.
Girls team scores: Clarke 2277; Lenox/Southwest Valley 1747; Greene County 1518; Mount Ayr 1376.
Boys team scores: Clarke 2927; Greene County 2444; Mount Ayr 2312; Lenox/Southwest Valley 2099.
The team was scheduled to bowl at home on Tuesday against Dowling Catholic.
